Gigha
Gigha is an island with a population of about one thousand five hundred people (in
the late 1500s, near the end of the Linn nan Creach caused by the Lordship's fall, the island was raided, and six hundred
people were killed - from that I worked out the population in 1412), which is east of Islay, near the shores of Kintyre.
It is famous for being the home of the most talented harpers and poets in the Gaelic world (the Lordship
of the Isles, the Highlands, Ireland, the Isle of Man), the Mac an Bhreatnaigh
dynasty.
There is also a chapel to St Catan here, and a small fortification.
