Fuaigh Mòr is an island to the west of the Isle of Lewis (that may have been connected to
the Isle of Lewis by a man-made causeway) with a population of just over five hundred
people (on the Isle of Lewis and on the mainland I heard people mention the story of a Norse
raiding party that was turned back by a force of the island's two hundred men, circa 900AD),
or considerably more if the populations of the many small islands nearby are to be included in that number.
There is a cairn at the southeast of the island.
