Curach
The curach is a small Celtic boat, usually used for personal travel, although it may also be taken into deep
water or over long distances if it is required. Most clachans have one, and sometimes one may be owned by an individual, but
because they cannot hold much cargo they are best for communication or, if in military use, reconnaisance.
They are about eighteen feet long, and can transport only a small number of people.
